Gary's story |
My name is Gary and I had FSR surgery at Johns Hopkins about a month ago for my 1.7 CM
AN. It was painless and the people were very nice; my doctor Dr. Williams was thorough and
gentle.
I expect the AN to die over a period of 18-24 months. This is the goal of FSR -- to kill
the tumor without effecting hearing and facial function. I am happy to report that I have
no additional hearing loss and my facial functions are normal. I do have a few swallowing
issues... I will go back in April to see if the tumor is duying. Hopefully I can report
further positive results.
I urge you to look at FSR as an option over surgery. If I had had a cancerous tumor, I
would have chosen surgery... but since the AN is benign in 99% of the cases, I chose
to attack it with a more non-invasive option. FSR saved a lot of uncomfortable days and
nights for me.
E-mail me with any questions about the procedure... I will be happy to talk with you
about it.
Best,
